Capacity on Demand

Adapt Placement Capacity Without Rebuilding the Line

SIPLACE SX uses removable placement gantries so manufacturers can increase capacity, reduce capacity or move a gantry to another SX line when demand changes. This modular concept is designed for volatile schedules, frequent product changes and high-mix production.

Single-Gantry Configuration SX1

Up to 43,250 cph, depending on the installed placement head and production setup.

Dual-Gantry Configuration SX2

Up to 86,500 cph for higher-capacity lines while retaining platform flexibility.

Feeder Capacity 120 Slots

Up to 120 × 8 mm feeder positions for high-mix material setups.

Long-Board Option 1,525 mm

Supports boards up to 1,525 × 560 mm when the machine is suitably configured.

Platform Overview

Understanding the SIPLACE SX Platform

SIPLACE SX is a flexible high-mix platform. It is not the same machine family as SIPLACE X S / XS, which is positioned primarily for maximum high-volume capacity.

Selecting the Correct SX1 or SX2 Configuration

SX1 and SX2 identify one-gantry and two-gantry platform configurations. The correct machine cannot be selected from the model name alone because the installed placement heads determine speed, component range, placement force and the role the machine performs within the line.

A CP20 head supports fast placement of small standard components. A CPP head can switch between collect-and-place, pick-and-place and mixed modes. A TWIN head is intended for larger, heavier and odd-shaped parts. The conveyor, camera, feeder and software configuration must also be reviewed.

Information to Confirm Before Selection

  • Required SIPLACE SX1 or SX2 configuration
  • Number of installed gantries and head type on each gantry
  • CP20, CPP, TWIN or mixed placement-head requirement
  • Single-lane, dual-lane or long-board conveyor setup
  • PCB dimensions, thickness and production panel format
  • Smallest, largest and odd-shaped component requirements
  • Feeder quantity, tape widths, tray and special feeding requirements
  • Machine condition, software version, destination and delivery schedule
Model Comparison

SIPLACE SX1 and SX2 Comparison

SX1 and SX2 share the same flexible platform concept. The main platform distinction is the number of placement gantries, while real production capability depends on the heads, conveyor and options installed on the individual machine.

Configuration Placement Gantries Platform Speed Placement Accuracy Typical Production Role Verification Required
SIPLACE SX1 One removable gantry Up to 43,250 cph ±25 µm @ 3σ Flexible placement, NPI, mixed components and specialized end-of-line processes Head type, conveyor, cameras, feeders and software
SIPLACE SX2 Two removable gantries Up to 86,500 cph ±25 µm @ 3σ Higher-capacity high-mix production with flexible head combinations and line balancing Both gantries, installed heads, conveyor, feeders and options
Placement Head Configurations

Configure SIPLACE SX for Speed, Flexibility or Special Components

The placement head is central to SX machine selection. It determines component range, achievable output, placement force and the machine's role within a balanced SMT line.

01

CP20 High-Speed Head

Fast collect-and-place processing for small standard components, including 0201 metric parts, with twenty placement segments.

02

CPP Flexible Head

Switches by software between collect-and-place, pick-and-place and mixed modes for broad component coverage and line balancing.

03

TWIN Placement Head

Handles large, heavy and odd-shaped components, including specialized TWIN VHF configurations for demanding component dimensions.

04

OSC Process Package

Supports difficult odd-shaped components with advanced vision, snap-in detection, process monitoring and placement forces up to 100 N.

Production Applications

Where SIPLACE SX Provides the Strongest Advantage

SX is designed for production environments where product variety, order changes, component diversity and fast capacity adjustments matter as much as nominal placement speed.

01

High-Mix Electronics

Frequent product changes, diverse feeder setups and broad component ranges across industrial, communication and specialist electronics.

02

Automotive & Power Electronics

Connectors, BGAs, large special components and demanding process-control requirements, including odd-shaped component handling.

03

NPI and Volatile Demand

Fast new-product introduction, offline programming and flexible gantry capacity for short-term order changes and production peaks.

04

Large and Long PCBs

Single-lane, dual-lane and optional long-board configurations for products that exceed standard PCB dimensions.

Supply Process

From SX Requirement to Machine Delivery

The complete gantry, head, conveyor, feeder and software configuration should be verified before an SX machine is confirmed.

01

Application Review

Confirm product mix, PCB range, component spectrum, target output, feeder demand and changeover frequency.

02

SX1 or SX2 Matching

Select one or two gantries and match CP20, CPP or TWIN heads to the required production role.

03

Configuration Verification

Review machine labels, installed heads, cameras, conveyor setup, software, photos and available test information.

04

Packing and Delivery

Confirm included accessories, feeder packages, export packing, shipment details and destination requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

SIPLACE SX Series Questions

Common questions about SX1, SX2, Capacity on Demand, placement-head configurations, used-machine supply and parts support.

No. SIPLACE SX is the flexible high-mix platform with SX1 and SX2 configurations. SIPLACE X S, sometimes written XS, is a separate high-volume platform with X2S, X3S and X4S models.

SX1 uses one placement gantry and SX2 uses two. Their practical component range and production role depend on the placement heads and options installed on the individual machine.

SX gantries can be installed, removed or shifted between compatible SX lines, allowing manufacturers to adjust line capacity as demand and bottlenecks change.

Common current head directions include CP20 for speed, CPP for broad flexible placement and TWIN for larger, heavier or odd-shaped components. The exact installed head must be checked on every machine.

Yes. TWIN head and OSC package configurations support demanding odd-shaped components, advanced vision functions, snap-in detection and specialized placement-force requirements.

The platform supports boards up to 450 × 560 mm in single-lane mode and 450 × 265 mm in dual-lane mode. A configured long-board option can support boards up to 1,525 × 560 mm.

Used or refurbished SX machines may be available according to current inventory. Machine condition, gantries, heads, software, included accessories and testing scope should be confirmed individually.

Feeder packages depend on the quotation. An SX machine can be supplied separately or matched with compatible SIPLACE X feeders, feeder tables and trolleys.

Please provide the required SX1 or SX2 configuration, PCB size, product mix, target output, component range, preferred heads, feeder requirement, machine condition and destination country.
